Privacy Policy

LinguaQuest (“the app”, “we”) is an app for learning English, published by Maden Labs, LLC. This policy explains what data we handle and how. Write to us at support@linguaquestapp.com with any question.
What data we handle
- Account. You can come in as a guest (an anonymous account with a random identifier is created; we ask for no personal data) or with your email and a password. If you use email, we store it only to authenticate you.
- Learning progress. We store your progress (XP, completed lessons, spaced repetition state, exams, certificates and your “false friends” collection) tied to your account, so it syncs between your devices and the web version.
- Name. We ask for it at the start: it appears on the map, in your profile, next to your score on the leaderboard and on your CEFR certificate. You can change it any time from your profile. We never show emails or identifiers.
Microphone and voice
With your permission, we use the microphone only to score your pronunciation: in the speaking steps of the placement test, in the speaking exercises inside a lesson, and in Accent Mirror. Recognition uses Apple's engine (on-device recognition when available). We do not store your audio and we do not share it with third parties.
You can use the app without granting the microphone: the placement test replaces those steps with listening ones and says so in the result.
Where the data is stored
We use Supabase as our database and authentication provider. Your account and progress are stored securely there. We do not sell your data, and we use no advertising and no third-party tracking. This website has no analytics and no cookies either.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app, without going through us: Profile → Delete account and data. The deletion is permanent. If you would rather we did it, or you want to access or correct your data, write to support@linguaquestapp.com.
Changes
If we update this policy we will change the date above and publish the new version on this same page.
