LinguaQuest is an app and a web game for learning English, published by Maden Labs, LLC (Florida, USA). By using them you accept these terms. If something here doesn't sit right with you, write to support@linguaquestapp.com before going further.
1. Who can use it
LinguaQuest is not directed at children under 13. If you are between 13 and 18, use it with the permission of whoever is responsible for you.
2. Your account
You can come in as a guest, without signing up: an anonymous account is created and your progress is saved anyway. If you add an email and a password, that account becomes yours and you can recover your progress on another device or on the web version. You are responsible for keeping your password safe.
You can delete your account and all your data from inside the app, at Profile → Delete account and data. It is permanent. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription: that is done in your Apple account settings.
3. What the certificate is — and is not
When you pass an island's lighthouse exam, LinguaQuest can issue a certificate with your name, the level, a score band and a public verification code.
That certificate is not an accredited exam and is not equivalent to an official one. It is aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), but it is our own measurement: no educational authority issues or recognises it. It does not guarantee academic admission or employment, and it is not valid for immigration purposes. If you need an official certification, take an accredited exam.
The verification code is public and reveals only the level, the score band and the date. It does not expose your email or any identifier.
4. LinguaQuest Pro
Playing is free. The six islands, the 28 lessons, the spaced-repetition review, Accent Mirror and taking the lighthouse exam cost nothing and carry no ads. LinguaQuest Pro does exactly one thing: issue and download the verifiable certificate for the exams you pass.
Pro does not gate your progress. Passing an exam opens the crossing to the next island with or without a subscription, and if you pass without one, the certificate is kept and you can issue it whenever you want.

Prices may vary by country and applicable taxes; the final price is always shown in the app before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. The monthly subscription renews for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID account settings; we cannot cancel it for you. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
Certificates issued during an active subscription remain valid and verifiable indefinitely after cancellation. A certification that expires when you stop paying would not be a certification, and that is not what we sell.
We may revoke a certificate only if we detect fraud or abuse in the exam — never for non-payment.
5. Microphone and voice
The microphone is optional and is used only to score your pronunciation. Recognition happens on your device when the system allows it, and we do not store or upload your audio. See the Privacy Policy.
6. Acceptable use
Please do not attempt to tamper with exam results, obtain certificates by automated means, resell access, or interfere with the service. If you do, we may suspend the account and revoke certificates obtained that way.
7. Intellectual property
The content, the code, the world of Anglia and the LinguaQuest brand belong to Maden Labs, LLC. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the app. The certificates you issue are yours to show and share.
8. No warranties and limitation of liability
LinguaQuest is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it working and the assessment consistent, but we do not guarantee that it is free of errors or that studying will produce a particular result. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the last twelve months.
9. Changes and governing law
If we update these terms we will change the date above and publish the new version here. They are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
